Judy wrote the following about her quilt: The pattern is Lucky Pieces. It is also called the Barbara Frietchie Star. This was begun in a shoe box swap and I ended up with only seven blocks. I had bought the little flags several years ago because I wanted to replicate an antique flag quilt I had seen, but when I tried to do that, it not only wasn't attractive, it would have covered the state of Connecticut. So I played around in EQ3 and came up with this design. I created it in June/July of 1998.

Judy won these Nosegay blocks at a Block of the month swap. She played around with them for awhile on her design wall and decided to use EQ3 to design a layout. Judy states, "That was brilliant if I do say so myself because I was able to turn them every which way and audition layouts, sashings, borders, etc., with just a couple of clicks. I finally ended up with this modified Jacob's Ladder setting." Her husband likes BIG quilts so this one is for him.
