a sewer, DeElda began translating her whimsical designs into quilts in 2002. In
2004, she came out with her first quilt line at the International Quilt Market
and has been designing and machine-applique quilting ever since. She loves the
process of turning her pop-art designs into fun and usable quilts and wall hangings
for the young and playful at heart. Not the traditional quilter, DeElda uses her
home decor projects and patterns that are a little out of the ordinary to lure
the younger sewer into the quilt world.
With her two cats and a dog, DeElda lives and works in her
home/studio overlooking a small pond in the middle of Iowa. Her greatest
accomplishment has been the raising of two grown childrenEllen and
Charlie. When she isn't designing with fabric, DeElda enjoys writing children's
books, sculpting, painting and traveling. She also finds time to train
for marathons, running to benefit the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
