About the Author

M'Liss Rae Hawley is the best-selling author of nine books. She is an accomplished quilting teacher, lecturer, embroidery, and textile designer and conducts workshops and seminars worldwide. Although her new PBS television series, M'Liss Quilting World, is in production, M'Liss still finds time to design fabric exclusively for Jo-Ann's stores, and to be the quilting spokesperson for Husqvarna Viking and Robinson-Anton Textile Company. M'Liss and her husband, Michael, live on Whidbey Island, Washington, in a filbert orchard. Michael is also a best-selling author and recently retired as sheriff of Island County. Their son, Alexander, is a sergeant in the USMC, and their daughter, Adrienne, a recent college graduate of Seattle University, is serving in AmeriCorps. Michael and M'Liss share their home with seven dachshunds and four cats.
