About the Author
After studying fine art in college, Rose Hughes joined
the corporate world for more than 20 years, but she was never
far from her art. While photography played a key role, it
was quilting and working in fabric that captured her heart
in 1991. Rose has been teaching her art form since 1996,
and she has appeared on Simply Quilts. She currently
teaches workshops nationally in quilt construction, embellishment
mehtods and using color.
Many of Rose's quilts have been accepted in juried exhibitins
nationwide, and her works are included in numerous corporate
and private art collections. She is active in the quilt-art
community and is the founder of Quilts on the Wall: Fiber
Artists in Southern California. She is also a professional
member of Studio Art Quilt Association.
