Introduction from the Author
I love to decorate my home for Christmas. Quilted
items are an important part of the process. I like to have
something I have made mixed in with the other Christmas items
I have collected over the years.
If there has ever been any doubt that projects
made with Christmas fabrics are popular, one only has to
look at the wonderful collections that the fabric companies
make available each year.
Whether you prefer the traditional red/green
or burgundy/green combinations or the more contemporary pink/green
colors, I hope you will enjoy making these projects as much
as I did.
About the Author
Sandra L. Hatch learned to sew at a young age from her mother,
grandmother and her involvement in 4-H clubs. She grew up
making clothing for herself and her five younger sisters.
She even made a few patchwork quilts of the crazy-patch variety.
The early interest in sewing led her to pursue a college
degree in education to teach home economics to middle school
During those teaching years Sandra and her husband had two
children and self-built a home. She also made friends with
a group of quilters. Through one of these friends she found
a new career in the quilting field.
At the present time, Sandra is the editor of Quilter's World,
a bimonthly publication from the House of White Birches.
She is the designer/author of Vintage Quiltmaking and co-author
with Sue Harvey of Panel Magic, both books from the Master
Sandra enjoys designing and making quilts. She especially
likes making quilted items for the holidays and gifts for
her loved ones. She also loves to read, spend time with family,
travel to warm climates, sit by the pond at her family's
camp, enjoy her grandchildren and keep busy.
