About the Author

author After chancing upon a sampler quilt pattern at a sidewalk sale in 1997, Kim Diehl set about to make her first quilt without the benefit of any quiltmaking knowledge or experience and soon discovered she had found a new passion.

With just her third quilt, Kim entered and won American Pathwork & Quilting magazine's "Pieces of the Past" quilt challenge in 1998. This win took her life down a new and unexpected path, and Kim began designing quilts professionlly soon after. In the years since, Kim has seen many of her designs published in national magazines, and she remains a frequent contributor to American Patchwork & Quilting. When she's not designing and sewing patchwork, Kim enjoys traveling to quilds and events around the country, sharing her quilts and teaching her invisible machine applique methods.

Simple Seasons, Kim's third book with Martingale & Company, is near and dear to her heart because it brings together her love of traditional pathcwork and applique with her passion for cooking and creating recipes. Kim makes her home in scenic Idaho surrounded by her family, her much-spoiled pooches, and her country-style gardens
