IntroductionThe Modern Crafter Chooses Color! For generations, new moms thought that only pink and blue would do for their children. Thank goodness the Internet opened the fashion floodgates, allowing creativity to flow free! Today, the hottest trends meld edgy colors with international influences, and the emphasis is on self-expression. What a wonderful time to be creative while treating the kids in your life to original accessories! Inspired by the Japanese fashions that have bloggers raving. Linda Lum DeBono created these 11 easy-to-make designs in upbeat, urban hues. Now Baby can say "bye-bye" to boring pastels, because Mama's discovered the freedom of color! About the AuthorGetting to know Linda Lum DeBono When you want fresh ideas and modern color, you want designs by Linda Lum DeBono. "I'm always looking for the next thing in fashion and I like to stay just ahead of the trend", says Linda. "New colors always seem a little bit out there or even a little crazy, but they can also be more subtle while the style itself leans toward the fashion-forward end of the scale. The best look is one that expresses what's hot without going over the top." When Linda isn't drawing bold new patterns or spending time with her husband, Reno, and their two young sons, she can be found working on textile designs. Her most recent lines of fabrics by Henry Glass & company features a dynamic blend of geometric and floral prints in exciting new hues. All this design activity makes it hard to believe that Linda hasn't always known how to apply scissors and thread to fabric. Linda discovered her creative skills when Reno's employment brought their family to New Jersey from Canada, and Linda left behind a career in the pharmaceuticals industry. To stay busy, the young mom took a couple of quilt classes and discovered a new passion for sewing and designing. These days, Linda's work can be seen in a variety of crafting magazines and books To see more examples of Linda's creations, visit www.lindalumdebono.com.
