Vintage Animals

IntroductionIf there is one word that describes this collection of vintage animals, it is light-hearted. Dogs and cats have invaded the laundry, have taken over Dad's favorite chair and are even playing musical instruments! Favorite fairy tale characters come to life on pillowcases while farm and circus animals perform on quilts. The animated expressions on these designs are simply irresistible. Where else can you find a duck dancing an imitation of Gene Kelly's "Singing in the Rain"? Vintage Animals offers an exciting array of patterns for you to adapt your individual tastes and decorating needs.
From the AuthorIt is hard to imagine a childhood without a few puppies or kittens somewhere among the toys, pictures, quilts or clothes laying around a child's room. The attraction is so strong it often lingers into the adult years. Towels, pillows, aprons, laundry bags and potholders bear witness to our love affair with our pets. Catalogs, stores and magazines from the late 1800s through the Great Depression and right on to the present offer an array of animals to stitch. We've taken a nice sampling of these nostalgic treasures for you to put your hand to. We've also thrown in little bits and pieces from these catalogs and women's magazines to give a flavor of those "Good Old Days". We hope you enjoy this touch of nostalgia.
