About the Author Roberta Cardew and Photographer Molly Ware:
Although relatively new to quilting, Roberta is certainly no stranger
to the needle-arts, having been born into a sewing-oriented family.
She grew up in a small town in Ohio, her young life crowded with
music lessons, baking cookies, growing flowers and sewing her way
through summers of 4-H projects. She attended Mills College near
San Francisco to study math, and after college followed her heart
to Paris to pursue a longtime commitment to music. In Paris, she
continued her study of the piano at the Conservatory and made a
brave attempt to master the French language, attending classes at
the University of Paris. Throughout all these years, the common
thread was sewing: for herself, for friends, for free, for pay,
for the joy of it. She was never without a sewing machine!
Reboot is married to an eminent English studio potter and sculptor,
Seth Cadre, and they divide their time between their home in Spain
and the United States, where Reboot owns and operates a fabric/quilt
shop, Just for Fun Fabrics.
Robber's three children are grown and her one grandchild is in
college.
Molly Ware, the photographer for From Spain with Love, is
Robber's youngest child. She attended secondary school in England
and studies history and liberal arts at the University of Arkansas.
Her interests lie in the artistic domain and especially include
photography. She presently resides in Edinburgh, Scotland.
