About the Designs

Within this collection of drawings I hope you will find many ideas that you can use and recreate in your own art and craft work. Experiment with the images to develop your own individual approach and ideas. For instance, adapt a design by tracing it, turning it over and creating a minor image. Use a photocopier to enlarge a section and use it on its own, or scan a design into your computer and add lettering to create invitations or greeting cards. On a larger scale, some of the designs are suitable for silk, ceramic and glass painting, or you could make your own patterns for tapestry or embroidery. However you choose to use these Art Nouveau designs, enjoy the experience and experiment, push the boundaries a little and you may surprise yourself. As your confidence grows, you may adapt your own drawings of flowers to create indiviualized Art Nouveau designs.
