About the Author

Chris is an artist with an innate understanding of color and design. She has 30 years of experience in teaching and program planning. Chris has learned that using one's creativity to approach problem-solving makes things go much easier. She utilizes this skill to develop opportunities for her students to 'discover' their own creative abilities.

She devotes her time and energy to the creative process. As a Working Artist for Golden Acrylic Colors, Chris finds her background to be a perfect complement when lecturing, teaching, or designing a class about acrylic painting materials and techniques.

Chris's favorite students are those that come with either no experience or a bias 'against' acrylic! Her affiliation with Golden has really influenced her work, pushing her to explore new processes and materials.

Her studio is brimming with pieces that tell stories about people, many enriched with pieces of family history. Collage and mixed media pieces, lively with color, texture and movement dominate her studio walls.

She conducts workshops throughout southern California and is a member of the Los Angeles Experimental Artists Group. Chris lives in California with her husband Darrell, where she enjoys a wonderful garden filled with roses and fruit trees, plentiful sunshine, a few cats and the company of friends. She has two married daughters

Since 2000, Chris has exhibited at Memphis, Nashville, The A.E. Backus Gallery in Florida and the Chapelle des Penitents, in Callian, France. Her work is held in private collections in California, Maryland, Tennessee, Florida, Canada, Germany, France, Israel and Norway.
