Sharla Hicks' Book Review

Today fiber artists and art quilters are on a journey of exploring content driven art work and experimental mixed media in their artistic expressions.

This book, Art Revolution, Alternative Approaches to Fine Artist and Illustrators, will make an outstanding addition to any artists resource library as it offers insight with rich art examples, artist statements of process and thought for producing content driven works that reflect today's life issues.

Art Revolution offers the knowledge that the fiber artist and art quilters are on the the same path as their fellow contemporary artists exploring and expanding the boundaries of art using content, new materials, found objects, fiber, fabric, paper, collage, mixed media, digital enhancement, photography, acrylic gels and mediums and much more.

The book includes multiple technique sections with excellent, picture-rich step-by-step instructions that offer the artist an opportunity to expand their knowledge on how to use many of the new and innovative materials that are allowing today's artist to push the boundaries of what constitutes the process and content decisions of making art. Look closely at the Table of Contents for additional information on the techniques offered.
