About the Author

Linda McGehee is know internationally for her extraordinary designs and innovative techniques. She has written award-winning books about the surface manipulation she has mastered. Her book "Creating Texture with Textiles," published by Krause Publications, showcases many of her projects featured in the prestigious Fairfield Fashion Show, Bernina Fashion Show, Statements, Captiol Imports and Better Homes and Gardens. Linda's second book with Krause, "Simply Sensational Bags," teaches the basics of bag construction and embellishment.

In addition to sewing handbags and creating texture, Linda has created 3-D designs for the embroidery machine through Cactus Punch. Floral Dimensions and Floral Dimensions 2 allow the sewer to create lovely dimensional flowers with various types of threads.

Linda has appeared on "Sewing with Nancy,: Sandra Betzina, "Kaye Wood's Quilting Friends," America Sews with Sue Hausmann," " America Quilts," Martha's Sewing Room" and QNN.

Traveling the globe to share her love of sewing, Linda teaches at sewing machine conventions, stores, guilds, and sewing, quilting and embroidery shows. She recently received the Excellence in Teaching Award at the American Sewing Expo. This award is unique because the attendees choose the winner.
