Dear
Readers,What is a beaded bead? I heard that question a lot when I was putting this book together. Here's my answer: "It's a bead covered with beads or one made solely out of beads, like a miniature sculpture with a hole in it. You can wear it alone on a chain or incorporate it into a elaborate pieces of jewelry. Some beaded beads are suave, some are spunky, some are just plain beautiful. They work up quickly and are much like potato chipsyou can't make just one". My explanation often received blank stares until I displayed a sample of the real thing. So the main point is this: Beaded beads are as varied as their makers. They are versatile components for jewelry-making, and they're just about as instantly gratifying as beadwork gets.
