About the Authors: Fiber artist Katie Pasquini was born and raised in Eureka, CA, with her seven brothers and sisters. She has won many awards throughout her career, including the Penny Nil award at the 1998 Visions Show for her quilt Passages, Chaco Canyon. Her quilt Rio Hondo was chosen as one of the 100 quilts of the twentieth century. Katie travels the United States, Canada, New Zealand, Australia, Japan, Belgium, Switzerland, and England, teaching contemporary quilt design.

Brett Barker first explored art as a teenager in Malmo, Sweden and continued her studies while attending college in Claremont, CA. Brett now divides her time between teaching and creating art. Her artwork can be seen in Santa Fe, New Mexico, and continues to be collected throughout the United States. In addition, Brett writes for the SAQA Newsletter and other artist publications. She travels throughout the United States, teaching quilters and other artists to explore their creativity and expand their knowledge.
