Author Sherrill KahnAbout the Author

Sherrill was an art educator for thirty years in the public schools with an emphasis on drawing, painting, fiber and design. Since retirement from the public schools, she has taught nationally and internationally for stores, conferences, guilds and educational institutions. She owns Impress Me, a rubber-stamp company, with her husband, Joel. She has four fabric lines with Robert Kaufman, paint line and paint studio products with Jacquard, and Rollagraphs and Style Stone products with Clearsnap. She has written over 40 magazine articles; this is her third book.

Sherrill has loved to draw and paint as long as she can remember. She would sit for hours coloring and painting as a young girl. She received Lincoln Logs for Christmas when she was seven and enjoyed building structures with them. She made doll clothes when she was eight using a composite doll about 9" tall with arms that were removable, so the garments could be put on and taken off easily. Her mother, Ann, who taught elementary school, taught her to sew, knit and crochet.

Today Sherrill continues to experiment with every possible media. She loves to play endlessly with her designs on the computer, as well as draw, knit, crochet, make fused glass and create three-dimensional pieces. Sherrill enjoys trying out every new product that seems interesting. She definitely lives by the words "What if?" and hopes you enjoy and have fun with the techniques in Creative Embellishments.
