About
the AuthorHighly respected in the world of quilts, Helen Marshall works on commissions, curates and coordinates exhibitions, writes for magazines and has devised a series of patchwork lessons which are taught through the online Quilt University based in Virginia, USA. She has recently written a book, 'Wheel of Mystery', Surprising Designs from a Classic Block'.
Helen has taught embroidery for a long time and like the extra dimension achieved by adding embroidery, either by hand or machine, to patchwork. In her classes she tries to present new ideas each year and says her 'What happens if...?' policy with her students produces lots of fun and fascinating results.
Like many needlwomen, Helen finds inspiration
in her garden and the landscape around her. In an interesting extension of her
embroidery activities, Helen has been responsible for organizing a collection
of tactile books for visually impaired children.
