Author Barbara BrackmanAbout the Author

Barbara Brackman has written numerous books about quilts and quilt history, among them America's Printed Fabrics: 1700-1890 for C&T Publishing. She lives in Lawrence, Kansas, a town founded by antislavery activists before the Civil War. She works as a consultant with the Kansas Museum of History, where she curated an exhibit on territorial history for the state's recent sesquicentennial anniversary. She also volunteers at the Helen Foresman Spencer Museum of Art at the University of Kansas, where she is Honorary Curator of Quilts. She was a founding member of the American Quilt Study Group and is proud to be a member of the Quilter's Hall of Fame.
