About the Designer

.Ruth M. Swasey has been making and designing quilts for more than 25 years. She enjoys manipulating designs and using lots of different fabrics in one quilt. Scrap quilts are her favorites.

Ruth sews most of her quilts by machine these days, but her first love is hand-piecing and hand-quilting, and she still manages to have a few of those projects in her sewing basket. Ruth has been involved with quilting in the world of publishing since 1972, being the first editor of Stitch 'N Sew Quilts.

As a mother of three children, Ruth has a busy life and still manages to keep quilting and sharing her designs with others.

Quilt Note

If you save every little scrap from leftover projects, you probably have lots of little pieces of fabric in your stash. Making quilts from scraps can be tricky. Some patterns don't require much coordination of fabrics while others require fabrics of the same color range or vale. Sorting your scraps and choosing the right ones for a project takes some time, but it doesn't cost a dime!

If you are ready to make some space in your fabric collection and are feeling thrifty, you will love the projects in this pattern book. Whether you want to make a small project, such as a table runner, or a larger bed-sized quilt, you will find lots of great ideas.
