About the Author

Barbara was born in New York City and went to high school in the Kansas City area. She moved to Lawrence, Kan., to attend the University of Kansas and has lived there since. She consults for numerous museums including the Kansas Museum of History, the Kansas City Museum and the Spencer Museum at the University of Kansas. The Prairie Flower Project grew out of her long-term interest in women's history.
