Watercolorist Diane Beginnes- Phalen is best known for her popular Americana quilt series, a vibrant collection of painting featuring flowers, cottages, barns, country stores and Amish country life, with a rainbow of quilts hanging from porch rails, clotheslines and fences. Diane's fascination with quilts stems from her childhood, growing up in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.

Although Diane Phalen rarely picks up a needle she has created more than 90 original quilts. Traditional quilt blocks patterns such as Dresden Plate, Log Cabin, Pinwheel and Flying Geese are a few of the endless possibilities for quilt designs, and Diane would like to paint them all. Diane says, " I quilt with my paintbrush".

The 10 featured quilts were adapted from Diane's original paintings by professional quilt designer, Tetta Warehime. Fabric selections were inspired by the vivid hues of the watercolor quilts scattered throughout Diane's paintings.
