To those who have never used sulky Threads either by hand, for machine-fed or free-motion embroidery, they are a beautiful discovery that makes embroidery even more enjoyable and creative. Virtually all Sulky Threads make the vibrant end result of any of our creative embroidery projects exactly what we envisioned when we conceived them. For redwork by hand, Sulky 12 wt. Cotton is the new choice instead of floss because it comes on a spool that can be used for machine work, but offers the hand user a friendlier, non-tangling, floss-like thread. There are computerized redwork designs that are digitized especially for Sulky 30 wt. Cotton threads, such as Joyce's latest embroidery card, AD-JD1 Angels by Amazing Designs.
Joyce Drexler is an instructor, artist, quilter, author, designer and Executive Vice President of Sulky of America, Inc., as well as CO-Owner of the mail order company Speed Stitch, Inc. from Port Charlotte, FL. Joyce is widely recognized as a leader in the field of "Machine Arts and Crafts". Since 1979 she has taught several thousand Retailers and Teachers and Instructor Training Workshops across America and Canada. In 1999, Joyce received the prestigious "Schmetz Golden Needle Award" in acknowledgment of her significant contributions toward enhancing the future of the sewing industry.
