Author Suzanne Zaruba CirilloAbout the Author

Suzanne Zaruba Cirillo lives in Tempe, Arizona, with her husband, son, and two Cavalier King Charles spaniels, Lady and Maggie. She has been making beautiful quilts for her family and friends since the early 1970's. Her interest in quilting was stimulated in her early childhood when she and her sister each received a lavender Nine Patch scrappy quilt from their maternal aunt. This was the first quilt that she remembers seeing, and she treasured it for many years.

Suzanne was introduced to sewing as a child in National City, California, where her family lived while her father was serving in the U.S. Navy. Her mother took Suzanne and her sister to local parks-and-recreation programs where they participated in needlework classes, among other things. After graduating from San Diego State College, Suzanne married her husband, Richard, and had three children: Christine, Michael and Elizabeth. She enjoyed sewing her family's clothing. Her first quilts were for her children, and the appliqué quilt that she made for her youngest daughter's third birthday is still loved and in daily use today after three decades.
