What exactly is a Medallion Quilt? It is a quilt that has a center block unit that has multiple boarders added to make the quilt the finished size required. The center does not need to be made from a quilt block, it can be cut from a special pieced of fabric. There are many antique quilts of this classification that have centers of chintz fabric.
Why does the title of this book have the words "One More Time Around" in it? That is easy. Every border you add to your center block (or think center section as the quilt grows larger) makes your quilt bigger and better.

This is a very easy pattern. There are no sharp points or curves. The block is 12 1/2" square or 18" on point. There are several possibilities
A rose garden is made up of a variety of roses. Use many different fabrics. Than it is time to start making roses. The roses do not need to be from the same fabrics or colors.

I originally taught this quilt in 1995 and then, as now I think of this quilt block as having a touch of the 1930's look. That does not mean it has to be made in 30's fabrics or colors. Here is a thought, do you like pink roses?
