About the Author Kaffe Fassett:
Kaffe Fassett is internationally-acclaimed by many as today's
leading contemporary textile designer and colorist.
Born and raised in California, Kaffe briefly attended Boston's
Museum of Fine Arts School on full scholarship before choosing
to leave to paint in London where he settled in 1964.
Color and pattern are his obsessions. His first venture into
textiles was in yarns and knitting. Vogue published his first
design. Soon he was commissioned to design for Missoni and
his one-of-a-kind textile creations became sought after collectibles.
In 1986 , Kaffe became the first living textile artist to
have a one-man show at the Victoria & Albert Museum.
Exhibits have since traveled around the world.
Since 1976, Kaffe has been the leading designer of needlepoint
kits for Ehrman Tapestries of London. His designer patterns
with Rowan Yarns continue to inspire knitters worldwide and
he is a leading fabric designer for Rowan Patchwork and Quilting.
